You Can Only Sell Body Parts….of Dead Babies

As pretty much everyone has seen by now, Planned Parenthood has been busted in a video for discussing the sale of body parts of aborted babies.

In the video, excellently devised and produced by the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life group based in Southern California, a Planned Parenthood executive discussed the going rates for livers, hearts, and lungs of dead babies casually over wine and salad.

Dead babies.

Livers.

Lungs.

Hearts.  

Dr. Deborah Nucatola, the senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood wasn’t sure if it was $30, $70, or $100 for a dead baby’s heart. 

But she seems to be an expert on how to get it.

I have several thoughts on this going forward and how pro-lifers should respond.

First, we must remember that as disgusting, nauseating and horrifying as the video is, that this kind of thing HAPPENS ALLTHE TIME.

For over 40 years, aborted babies have either been disposed of in dumpsters, picked up by medical waste disposal companies like Stericycle, and then incinerated with other medical “waste,” or sold on the black market for profit.

The fact that this is the first time many Americans have heard about what can happen to aborted babies tells us how good the pro-abortion crowd is at keeping things secret.

Second, the mainstream media is beginning to pick this up. CNN and CBS both ran the story on their evening news programs, and neither network is known for its sympathy for pro-lifers and conservatives.

But this actually leads us to another point. The mainstream media’s response is almost as callous as Dr. Nutacola. On CBS, the issue was whether or not abortion was good or bad, or dismembering the baby was ethical or not, since these things are settled in their minds—but whether any federal laws were broken in the potential selling of baby body parts.

So, let’s make sure we aren’t as callous as Dr.Nutacola. Only in a culture as confused as ours can we be outraged about the selling of baby body parts but ask no questions about how the baby parts got there in the first place.

Third, watch the GOP candidates closely here. Thesis now a national issue, so the candidates will be lining up. However, some of them have been calling for Planned Parenthood’s defunding for a long time, while others will see the wind blowing a certain direction and position themselves accordingly. Either way, we should do our homework. Do not read this as an endorsement, but Planned Parenthood is scared of Ted Cruz. That is because heptoses a real threat to their organization. There are others like Mr. Cruz in the nomination fight, and we should take a closer look at them.

Fourth, recall that this video is the product of something. And that something is the result of elections and judicial appointments. That something is the result of a large number of Christians who have been silent on the issue of abortion. Ironically, we see that we are all pro-choice, and because of the choices we have made as a nation, we are where we are.

So, we have to keep our eye on the ball here. You can only get a baby heart from Planned Parenthood if the baby has already been murdered.

It might cost $100 to get a baby’s heart, but this can only happen in a culture that has lost their own.

So, it may seem like God has given us over to what we want, but let not lose hope. Let us repent and pray. May God have mercy on all of us. Find out where your nearest abortion clinic is located. Ask the LORD how you can get involved to stop abortion. If you are blessed enough to live in a city without a clinic, (my city currently has five and the city across the bay also has five) then donate to pro-life ministries and pregnancy centers who can help those in crisis pregnancies. Give support to the sidewalk counselor son the front lines of this movement. And let us remember the words of King Solomon in Proverbs 24:11-12.

Deliver those who are drawn toward death,
And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.
If you say, “Surely we did not know this,”

Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?
He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?
And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

8 Ways That You Can End Abortion

1. Repent. Pray and sing the Psalms. Pay attention to the number of times the weak and vulnerable are mentioned.

2. Learn where your nearest abortion facility is, make plans to go there, pray there, weep there, bring your friends, your church, your guitar, your keyboard, your drum set, to sing songs of praise which will defeat the enemy. Network with brothers and sisters who are there doing the LORD’s work in sidewalk counseling. Join them. Listen. Learn from them. Be a co-belligerent on this issue and realize the significance of it. Let us not be smug doctrinal purists.

3. If the clinic is too far away, the serious pro-lifer only has two options 1) You must either move to that city (or another city) where babies are murdered and begin a pro-life ministry and/or partner with pro-life ministries that are already there or 2) You must support—from a distance—Christ-centered sidewalk counselors who are ON SITE at the abortion mills. Sidewalk counseling, when done in a Christ-honoring way, has a huge impact in this movement. Far more clinics have closed down in America because of faithful sidewalk counseling than by any other means. Sidewalk counselors see women who know no Christians, have no contacts, and are largely unaware of pro-life Christian pregnancy centers. This is one way to fulfill the Great Commission. This is the gospel in action and not just intention.

4. Seek accountability from your elders and Pastors, but do not necessarily wait for them to join you. It is very rare for Pastors to speak on this issue. Encourage them to do so, but don’t become discouraged if they don’t. Some will, some won’t. But respond to the LORD accordingly. Start humbly. Tomorrow, if 1% of the Christian church (evangelical and Catholic alike) showed up in front of abortion mills, the effect would be catastrophic for the abortion providers. Do the math and ask God to do it in your community. Be an example to your church leaders by standing for the preborn. The preborn are a mission field right here in America. Who else needs to the gospel more than one who plans on murdering their own child?

5. Live a life of purity and holiness by the grace of God. Hashtagging away about Planned Parenthood while nursing along a porn habit is not good. Christian men, kill the porn. Kill the deception. Be men. Take risks. Learn to be afraid, but to continue in obedience anyway. Spend your Saturdays in front of abortion mills instead of the teevee or google. Live out the truth you have learned. Look for ways to sacrificially give to pro-life ministries. Live for Jesus and rescue the perishing. Think of it this way. If we were rescued, saved by grace, and hell-bound before Jesus rescued us, doesn’t it follow that we would be in the business of rescuing the preborn from death? We are called to liberty, but liberty is meant to rescue and evangelize not fulfill our own desires (Gal. 5:12-13).

6. Do a Bible study on social justice and the weak and the lowly. The Bible is filled with it. The liberals have stolen this idea of social justice and believe it must connect with government programs for the poor, etc. etc. However, social justice begins in the womb. We should begin there. Racial reconciliation begins in the womb. Learn the history of Planned Parenthood and realize the legacy is racism, pure and simple.

7. Study the history of the Civil Rights movement in the United States. Study the freedom riders, the sit-ins, and the protests. Study how the leaders of these movements  were willing to get arrested, beaten and killed. Ask God to give you a spirit of fearlessness and humility. Don’t be afraid to look weird or crazy.

8. Research and vote accordingly. Start locally. Do you have a state rep or senator that has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood? Expose them. But be realistic. The politicians (at least the ones we have at present) are not going to end abortion. The people, led by Christians, will lead the politicians to end it. Because we currently have an oligarchy, weere unelected judges can overturn state legislatures and the will of the people, the most effective approach is do work on the ground, on site. The gospel and active pro-lifers in our cities and towns will do more to effect long term change than voting and then watching our votes get overturned by unelected oligarchs.
